Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Immigration Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting our mission and eager to contribute to the success of our immigration processes. This role is critical in helping international healthcare professionals navigate the complex U.S. immigration system, ensuring a smooth and efficient path to employment.
Responsibilities
- Legal Coordination & Support: Collaborate with immigration lawyers to manage candidate immigration processes, including I-140 filings, Prevailing Wage Determinations (PWD), and I-485 applications. Develop expertise in these filings to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Build relationships with new immigration lawyers to expand access to expert advice for specific issues.
- Administrative & Project Support: Provide administrative support to the Immigration Manager, managing candidate immigration details, filing forms, handling logistics, and communicating with candidates in a professional and efficient manner. Maintain healthcare professional databases to ensure accurate, up-to-date information.
- Candidate Communication & Assessment: Engage directly with candidates to discuss their immigration history, assess how we can assist them, and provide clear and actionable guidance on their next steps. Develop systems and processes to keep candidates regularly informed about their immigration status, ensuring a transparent and positive experience throughout their journey.
- Knowledge Development: Work with lawyers and engage in self-directed learning to master the EB3 process and immigration forms. Continuously deepen your understanding to strengthen in-house expertise and enhance team capabilities.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Be self-driven, proactive, and resourceful in seeking answers to immigration-related questions. Stay up-to-date on eligibility requirements and regulatory changes that may impact immigration policies and processes. If unsure of an answer, take initiative to find reliable resources and provide a timely and accurate response.
- Process & System Development: Lead efforts to create efficient workflows for form filings, including dashboards and automations that improve visibility and save time for both candidates and the organization.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with the Flint sales, recruitment, growth, and finance teams to coordinate efforts, ensuring alignment in servicing client accounts. Support various projects and initiatives as needed, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
What We're Looking For

- Ability to organize, track, and maintain large volumes of forms, files, and records accurately
- Experience in an administrative, legal support, or coordination role
